Ingredients

  • Turnips - 6 pieces
  • Butter - 1.4 oz
  • Safflower Oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Wheat Flour - 3 tablespoons
  • Milk - 25 fl oz
  • Bouillon cube - ½ piece
  • Gruyère cheese - 2.8 oz
  • Salt - to taste

Step by Step guide

Step 1

Wash and peel the turnip, then slice it. Bring salted water to a boil in a large pot, add the turnip, and cook for 10 minutes. Then drain the water.

Step 2

Melt the butter with the sunflower oil in a pot, stir in the flour and cook for 2 minutes, then slowly pour in the milk while stirring constantly, and cook for another 5 minutes. Add salt, crumble the bouillon cube, and mix well.

Step 3

Place the turnip slices in a baking dish, pour the sauce over them, and sprinkle with grated cheese. Bake for 10-15 minutes at 392°F until a golden crust forms. Serve immediately.
