- Tofu - 15 oz
- Dry yeast - 2 tablespoons
- Soy Sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Olive Oil - 1 tablespoon
- Hamburger Buns - 3 pieces
- Natural Alderwood Smoke Concentrate - 1 teaspoon
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Fry the tofu, cut into strips like bacon, over low heat until crispy. It is best to place them in hot oil in a pan and let them fry for 10 minutes. After that, they will be easy to flip.
Step 2
Flip them and let them fry for another 10 minutes in the hot oil.
Step 3
Mix the soy sauce with the liquid smoke, then remove the pan from the heat.
Step 4
Pour the liquid smoke and soy sauce into the pan and coat the tofu in the sauce on all sides.
Step 5
Sprinkle the yeast on top, and mix them again in the pan. When all the liquid has evaporated and the tofu is fully coated in a sticky liquid, the tofu is ready.
Step 6
Place the cooked tofu between the two halves of the sliced bun.
