Description
Vegan pastries with fruits or dried fruits
Ingredients
- Wheat Flour - 28.2 oz
- Water - 7 fl oz
- Vegetable Oil - 3 fl oz
- Salt - a pinch
- Sugar - 1 tablespoon
- Dry yeast - 0.7 oz
- Candied fruits - to taste
- Grapefruits - to taste
- Fresh Berries - to taste
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Prepare the dough starter. For this, add 2 cups of water to half of the flour, in which the yeast has been previously dissolved (it's better to use warm water).
Step 2
When the starter rises and then settles, pour in 100 ml of oil, add half of the remaining flour, sugar, and salt. Mix well with a wooden spatula. Let it rise, knead with the spatula, and let it rise again. I add more flour; the dough becomes thicker and doesn't stick to the table, rolling pin, or spatula. By the way, thick dough is easier to knead by hand than with a spatula.
Step 3
Sprinkle the remaining flour on the board or table, place the dough on it. Cut the dough into small pieces, make a flat round from each piece. Place a piece of candied fruit or berries in the center, pinch the edges, and roll into a ball (or another shape; I make horns or dumplings). Let it rise a bit and fry in hot oil until cooked.
Step 4
The finished pastries can be dusted with powdered sugar, decorated with berries and a sprig of mint.
