- White Cabbage - 2 lbs
- Onion - 3 heads
- Carrot - 4 pieces
- Parsley - 1 bunch
- Celery salt - 1 piece
- Tomatoes - 2 pieces
- Sour Cream - 1 jar
- Tomato Puree - 2 tablespoons
- Vegetable Oil - 2 tablespoons
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Clean the cabbage head, cut out the core, immerse the head in salted boiling water, and cook for 10–20 minutes. After that, place the cabbage head on a sieve, let the water drain, and separate the leaves, laying them out on the table. The stems of the leaves should be softened with a mallet or cut off with a knife.
Step 2
Place the vegetable filling on the prepared cabbage leaves and wrap them, giving the rolls an elongated shape. Sauté the rolls in a pan with oil, arrange them in a shallow pot, add sour cream and tomato puree, cover the pot with a lid, and simmer on low heat or in a hot oven for 30–40 minutes. During the simmering, pour the sauce over the rolls several times.
Step 3
Transfer the finished rolls to a serving dish and drizzle with the sauce they were cooked in.
