Ingredients
- Cracked Wheat - 1 cup
- Onion - 1 head
- Beef - 10.6 oz
- Beetroot - 3.5 oz
- Pork fat - 1.8 oz
- Ground Black Pepper - to taste
- Salt - to taste
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Wash the beetroot, peel it, and cut it into large strips.
Step 2
Peel the onion, wash it, and cut it into half rings.
Step 3
Wash the meat and cut it into pieces.
Step 4
Sauté the onion in melted pork fat until golden, add the meat and fry for 10 minutes.
Step 5
Add the beetroot to the pan with the meat and onion, and fry everything together for 5–7 minutes.
Step 6
Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 20 minutes. Bring 400 ml of water to a boil, add salt, pour in the cracked wheat, and cook, stirring, for 15–20 minutes.
Step 7
In the pot with the porridge, add the pepper and the meat sautéed with beetroot and onion, pour in 100 ml of water, cover with a lid, and cook in a preheated oven for 40 minutes.
