Ingredients
- Blue Ling Fillet - 31.7 oz
- Coarse Salt - to taste
- Coarse matzo - 6.3 oz
- Chocolate eggs - 3 pieces
- Mild Chili Spice - 4 teaspoons
- Ground Cumin - 1½ teaspoons
- Ground Black Pepper - ½ teaspoon
- Lemon - 1 piece
- Cilantro - to taste
- Vegetable Oil - ¼ cup
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Cut the fish into thin pieces. Sprinkle salt on all sides and let it sit for 30 minutes. Rinse under cold water and dry with a paper towel.
Step 2
In separate bowls, place the matzo, pour in the lightly beaten eggs, and in a third bowl mix chili, cumin, black pepper, and 0.5 teaspoons of salt. Coat the fish first with the spice mixture, then dip it in the egg, and roll it in the matzo. Transfer to parchment paper.
Step 3
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Fry the fish in batches for 5 minutes on each side until cooked through and golden brown. Transfer to a paper towel.
Step 4
Arrange the fish on plates and garnish with lemon wedges and cilantro.
