Winter Salad in Baskets
Ingredients
- Onion - 1 piece
- Mayonnaise - 3 tablespoons
- Salad Potatoes - 7.1 oz
- Green Peas - 1 can
- Pickled Cauliflower - 2 pieces
- Meat - 7.1 oz
- Salt - ½ teaspoon
- Vinegar essence - 1 teaspoon
- Chocolate eggs - 3 pieces
- Margarine - 12.3 oz
- Wheat Flour - 2 tablespoons
Step by Step guide
Step 1
First, you need to bake the baskets. Sift the flour onto a cutting board, finely chop the cold margarine, and mix it with the flour until crumbly. Gather the crumbs into a mound and make a well in the center. Crack an egg into a glass, add salt, whisk well, pour in the vinegar, and fill the glass with water to the top. Pour the liquid into the well of the flour-margarine mound and gently knead until smooth dough forms. Place it in the refrigerator for about 2–3 hours.
Step 2
Grease metal molds for the salad baskets well with oil. Preheat the oven to 392°F. Roll out the cold dough into a layer about 3 mm thick, cut out circles slightly larger than the molds, and carefully place the dough into the molds, pressing it against the bottom and sides. Pour dry peas into the bottom and bake the baskets until golden brown. Remove the peas and then carefully take the baskets out of the molds.
Step 3
Prepare the salad: cut the boiled lean meat, cucumbers, a small onion, boiled potatoes, and eggs into small cubes, add green peas, salt and pepper to taste, mix, and dress with mayonnaise.
Step 4
Fill the baskets with the salad, decorating the top to your liking.
