Description
Appetizer of red fish in crispy dough
Ingredients
- Puff Pastry - 17.6 oz
- Smoked haddock fillet - 28.2 oz
- Pitted olives - 4 spoons
- Basil - 2 sprigs
- Parsley - 2 sprigs
- Semi-soft cream cheese - 10.6 oz
- Chicken Egg - 1 piece
- Garlic - 2 cloves
- Tomatoes - 5 pieces
- Wheat Flour - 5 teaspoons
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Wash the tomatoes and slice them into rounds. Cut the cheese into small pieces. Peel the garlic and chop it coarsely. Wash the herbs, dry them, separate the leaves, and roughly chop the stems.
Step 2
Place the olives, garlic, herb stems, and half of the leaves in a blender. Blend until finely chopped. While the motor is still running, pour in 3 tablespoons of olive oil. Transfer the mixture to a bowl.
Step 3
Lightly dust the baking tray and work surface with flour, then roll out the dough into a sheet that matches the size of the baking tray.
Step 4
Wash the fish and pat it dry with paper towels. Place a sheet of dough on a baking tray and put the salmon fillet in the center. Drizzle with olive oil and season with salt and pepper. Spread the prepared olive paste over the fish.
Step 5
Place the remaining leaves of greens, tomato slices, and cheese on top.
Step 6
Fold the edges of the dough over the fish and lightly brush with beaten egg. Bake in a preheated oven at 392°F for 35 minutes.
Step 7
Transfer the finished pie onto a cutting board, slice it crosswise into pieces about 3–4 inches thick, and serve.
