Description
Appetizer with Pasta, Cheese, and Nutmeg
Ingredients
- Lemon - 1 piece
- Corn Starch - 2 teaspoons
- Garlic - 1 clove
- Chicken Broth - ½ cup
- Kirsch - ¼ cup
- Nutmeg - a pinch
- Gruyère cheese - ¼ cup
- Swiss Cheese - 3.5 oz
- Pasta (corkscrew) - 8.1 oz
- Breadcrumbs - 2 tablespoons
- Fresh basil leaves - 1 bunch
- Ground Black Pepper - a pinch
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Cook the pasta in boiling salted water until almost done. Drain the water.
Step 2
Preheat the oven to 392°F. In a small bowl, squeeze the juice of half a lemon and mix it with the cornstarch.
Step 3
Rub the bottom of a skillet with the garlic clove, and after chopping it, add it to the skillet. Add the broth, kirsch, and nutmeg. Bring to a boil over medium heat and add the grated cheese. Slightly reduce the heat and cook until the cheese melts, about 2-3 minutes. Add the lemon mixture and cook for 30 seconds.
Step 4
Then add the pasta, mix well, and distribute the mixture into 8 small molds or coffee cups. Sprinkle with breadcrumbs and place on a baking sheet. Bake for 8-10 minutes. Transfer to plates, let cool for 4-5 minutes, garnish with basil, and sprinkle with black pepper. Drizzle with the remaining lemon juice.
