- Water - 3 qt
- Apple - 2 lbs
- Grated Ginger Root - 7.1 oz
- Sugar - 8.8 oz

Cut the apples in half, remove the core, and then slice them into quarters.

Peel the ginger and slice it thinly.
Step 3
Bring the water and sugar to a boil in a large pot.

Place the apples and ginger into sterilized jars.
Step 5
Pour the hot syrup all the way to the top of the jar.

Cover the jars with lids and let the compote steep for 10 minutes.

Pour the syrup back into the saucepan and bring to a boil.

Pour the syrup into the jars all the way to the top.
Step 9
Seal the jars with sterilized lids and seal them.
Step 10
Flip it over and cover it with a blanket. Once the compote has completely cooled, store it away.
