Description
Apple Mojito Compote for Winter
Ingredients
- Apple - 17.6 oz
- Fresh Mint - 2 sprigs
- Oranges - 1 piece
- Lemon - 1.1 oz
- Sugar - 6.3 oz
- Water - 2½ l
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Prepare all the ingredients.
Step 2
Sterilize the jars over steam for 15–20 minutes.
Step 3
Wash the apples. Cut each apple into quarters, remove the core, and place them in a jar, filling it to about 3/4 of its capacity.
Step 4
Wash the lemon and orange (and blanch in boiling water if the fruits have a waxy coating). Cut out a few slices from the center of the orange (the leftover orange can be used in other dishes or simply eaten). Cut the lemon into wedges. Add to the jar.
Step 5
Add mint leaves to the jar.
Step 6
Boil the water and pour it into the jar up to the top. Cover the jar with lids (do not seal) and let it sit for about 1 hour.
Step 7
Drain the water from the can into a pot.
Step 8
Bring it to a boil.
Step 9
Pour granulated sugar into the jar with the fruits and cover with hot liquid.
Step 10
Seal the jar and turn it upside down, wrap it in a blanket or throw, and leave it for 8 hours, or ideally for 24 hours.
Step 11
Flip the jars upside down and store them. You can taste the mojito compote after a month. Serve with ice.
