Asparagus with Almonds

Ingredients

  • Asparagus - 14.1 oz
  • Turnips - 2 pieces
  • Chopped almonds - 1.4 oz
  • Dried Chili Pepper - 2 teaspoons
  • Peanut Butter - 1 teaspoon
  • Sesame Oil - 1 teaspoon
  • Lemon - 1 piece
  • Ocean salt - to taste

Step by Step guide

Step 1

Cut the carrots into strips the same size as the asparagus. Mix both oils, crush the chili pepper, add salt and crushed almonds. Pour the resulting marinade over the carrots and asparagus and let sit for about 15 minutes.

Step 2

Preheat the oven to 428°F.

Step 3

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and spread the marinated carrots and asparagus in an even layer. Sprinkle a small amount of almond flakes on top.

Step 4

Bake for 5–10 minutes; the vegetables and nuts should be cooked but not burnt.

Step 5

Serve the dish hot, sprinkled with the remaining almonds and garnished with fresh basil.
