Baked Camembert with Sorrel and Basil
Ingredients
- Camembert cheese - 4.4 oz
- Pickled capers - 3 tablespoons
- Unrefined Sunflower Oil - 1 teaspoon
- Olive Oil - 1 teaspoon
- Parmesan Cheese - 1.1 oz
- Pistachios - 1.4 oz
- Mild Chili Spice - a pinch
- Ground Black Pepper - a pinch
- Semi-soft cream cheese - 2 tablespoons
- Basil - 1 sprig
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Place the Camembert in a baking dish lined with foil. Make shallow cuts on top.
Step 2
Spread cream cheese on top and season with pepper.
Step 3
Finely chop the sorrel and mix it with refined olive oil.
Step 4
Spread the sorrel over the cheese.
Step 5
Bake in a preheated oven at 356°F for 12 minutes.

Meanwhile, grate the cheese finely.

Form oval shapes for the future 'crackers' and season them with chili pepper.

Bake in a preheated oven at 356°F for 5–6 minutes.

Toast the pine nuts in a dry skillet until golden brown.

Transfer the Camembert to a serving plate and add the slightly cooled cheese 'crackers'. Drizzle with green olive oil.

Then sprinkle with nuts and basil.
