Ingredients
- Butter - 1½ tablespoons
- Fennel - 17.6 oz
- Salad Potatoes - 24.7 oz
- Coarse Salt - to taste
- Ground Black Pepper - to taste
- Asiago cheese - 4.2 oz
- Cream (40%) - ½ cup
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 392°F. Grease a rectangular baking dish with butter.
Step 2
Cut the fennel in half lengthwise, remove the core, and slice thinly. Slice the potatoes thinly as well, leaving the skin on.
Step 3
Layer the potatoes and fennel in the dish, alternating between them. Season each layer with salt and pepper, and sprinkle with grated cheese, reserving about 0.5 cup of cheese. Top with pieces of butter.
Step 4
Pour the cream over the top and bake until tender, about 45 minutes.
Step 5
Then sprinkle with the remaining cheese and brown for another 15 minutes.
