Baked ham with cloves in orange marmalade and horseradish glaze

Ingredients

  • Smoked Ham on the Bone - 17 lbs
  • Water - 32 fl oz
  • Ground clove - 48 pieces
  • Fruit Marmalade - 8 fl oz
  • Creamy Horseradish - 2 fl oz
  • Brown Sugar - 2 fl oz
  • Orange juice concentrate - 16 fl oz

Step by Step guide

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 320°F. Place the ham in a baking dish and make shallow crosshatch cuts with a sharp knife. Insert a clove into each intersection. Pour water into the dish and place it in the oven for 1 hour and 30 minutes.

Step 2

Meanwhile, mix the marmalade, horseradish, and sugar.

Step 3

Remove the meat from the oven and pour out the juices from the dish. Pour orange juice into the dish and brush the meat with a third of the marmalade glaze. Return to the oven for 10 minutes. Then drizzle with juice and brush with glaze again. Bake for another 20 minutes, basting with juice every 5 minutes. Transfer to a plate and serve hot, warm, or cold.
