- Dried lima beans - 10.6 oz
- Onion - 1 head
- Prunes - 3.5 oz
- Cognac - 2 tablespoons
- Salt - to taste
- Ground Black Pepper - to taste
- Safflower Oil - 1 tablespoon

Soak the beans overnight.
Step 2
Change the water and cook on low heat for about 2 hours.

Pour boiling water over the prunes for 2–3 minutes.
Step 4
Chop the soaked prunes into small pieces.
Step 5
Next, soak these pieces in cognac for 10–15 minutes.
Step 6
Drain the beans, but do not discard the water.
Step 7
Chop and sauté the onion, but make sure it doesn't become mushy.
Step 8
Blend the beans with the onion until creamy, adding the reserved bean water, and add the prunes.
Step 9
Sprinkle with pepper.
Step 10
Add salt.
