Ingredients
- Beetroot - 17.6 oz
- Apple - 2 lbs
- Spanish onions - 9.7 oz
- Grated Ginger Root - 1 piece
- Brown Sugar - 12.3 oz
- Candied fruits - 2.6 oz
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Red Wine Vinegar - 25 fl oz
- Ground clove - 1 teaspoon
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Peel and finely chop the beetroot, apples, and onion. Transfer to a large pot.
Step 2
Add the grated ginger root (about 2.5 cm), finely chopped candied ginger, sugar, salt, and allspice.
Step 3
Pour in the vinegar and mix everything well.
Step 4
Bring to a boil, reduce the heat, and simmer for about 1 hour, stirring until the beetroot pieces are soft.
Step 5
Transfer to sterilized jars, seal tightly, and consume within 4 weeks.
