Black Rice with Seafood
Ingredients
- Bomb rice - 5.3 oz
- Tiger shrimp in brine - 8 pieces
- Calamari - 1.8 oz
- Mussels - 5 pieces
- Garlic - 3 cloves
- Green Peas - 1.1 oz
- Orange Bell Peppers - 2.1 oz
- Squid - 6 pieces
- Squid Ink Pasta - 0.3 oz
- Lemon - ½ piece
- Shrimp - 17 fl oz
- Olive Oil - 0 fl oz
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Crush, peel, and roughly chop the garlic, remove seeds and membranes from the bell pepper and cut it into large cubes, cut the shrimp in half crosswise.
Step 2
Sauté the bell pepper in olive oil over medium heat for 30 seconds, add the garlic and sauté for another 20 seconds.
Step 3
Add the squid and mussels and sauté for another 30 seconds.
Step 4
Add the green peas and sauté for another 30 seconds.
Step 5
Remove the mussels, pour in the broth, bring to a boil, add and stir in the squid ink, add the rice evenly spreading it across the surface and cook, stirring, over medium heat at a gentle simmer for 18 minutes, until the rice absorbs the broth.
Step 6
Add the shrimp and calamari, and cook for another 5 minutes, stirring vigorously, season with salt to taste.
Step 7
Plate the mussels, garnish the pan with half a lemon, and serve.
