Description
Do not use pu-erh or flavored black tea. Saffron has such a bright and distinctive flavor that it does not pair well with many ingredients. You really need to use very little saffron. Use Spanish or Iranian saffron. What is sold in Kashmir by Indian children is not saffron. Why not just put everything in the teapot and brew it? So you won't have to drink all your other teas with a saffron aftertaste or wash the teapot with detergent that will affect the flavor of your tea longer than the saffron.
Ingredients
- Saffron - a pinch
- Black tea - 2 teaspoons
- Kumquat - 2 pieces
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Brew two teaspoons of black tea separately in a teapot with half a liter of water.
Step 2
Put 5–7 saffron threads at the bottom of each cup per person.
Step 3
Add 1–3 kumquats to each cup. It doesn't matter if they are fresh or dried, although fresh ones are tastier.
Step 4
By this time, the tea should be brewed. Pour it over the contents of the cup. Enjoy.
