Description
Borscht with Fresh Cabbage
Ingredients
- Smoked Ham on the Bone - 14.1 oz
- White Cabbage - ½ piece
- Beetroot - 2 pieces
- Carrot - 1 piece
- Onion - 1 piece
- Tomatoes - 2 pieces
- Citric Acid - 0.4 oz
- Spices - to taste
- Wheat Flour - 1 tablespoon
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Boil the meat broth and add salt. In the boiling broth, add the chopped cabbage and grated beetroot, and cook until ready, then season.
Step 2
For the seasoning, finely chop the onion and grate the carrot. Remove the skin from the tomatoes by placing them in boiling water. Place the onion, carrot, tomatoes, and a tablespoon of flour in a hot skillet with sunflower oil and sauté.
Step 3
Add the seasoning to the pot where the cabbage and beetroot have already been cooked, and let it simmer until the onion and tomatoes soften. Mix everything together.
Step 4
In a separate cup or small pot, mix the citric acid with water and bring to a boil, then add it to the borscht after the seasoning. Add the spices.
Step 5
If the beetroot is not sweet, you can add sugar to taste.
