Borscht with Meat Broth and Lemon Juice

Ingredients

  • Meat - 3 lbs
  • Beetroot - 2 pieces
  • White Cabbage - 0.5 pieces
  • Carrot - 2 pieces
  • Onion - 2 pieces
  • Tomatoes - 2 pieces
  • Lemon - 0.5 pieces
  • Garlic - 2 heads
  • Salad Potatoes - 5 pieces

Step by Step guide

Step 1

Wash the meat, cover with cold water, and bring to a boil.

Step 2

Drain the first broth, quickly rinse the meat with cold water, and cover with water again.

Step 3

Bring to a boil, skim off the foam, and cook over medium heat.

Step 4

After 30 minutes, cut the beetroot and carrot into strips and add to the broth.

Step 5

After 20 minutes, cut the cabbage into strips and add to the broth.

Step 6

Add the chopped onion and tomato.

Step 7

After 5 minutes, add the diced potatoes. Season with pepper.

Step 8

When the vegetables are ready, squeeze half a lemon, add grated garlic, and herbs.

Step 9

Serve with sour cream.
