Braised leeks with cream sauce

Ingredients

  • Leek - 2 lbs
  • Chicken Broth - 0 fl oz
  • Butter - 2 tablespoons
  • Chopped Sage Leaves - 2 tablespoons
  • Coarse Salt - to taste
  • Ground Black Pepper - to taste

Step by Step guide

Step 1

Remove the old leaves from the leeks, trim the dark green tips. Cut the roots so that the leaves do not fall apart. Cut them in half lengthwise and rinse under cold water.

Step 2

Bring the broth to a boil in a deep skillet. Add the leeks, cover with a lid, and cook over low heat, turning once, until tender, about 15–25 minutes. Carefully transfer to a serving dish.

Step 3

Reduce the broth over high heat to 0.5 cup, about 10 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in the butter. Then add the parsley, season with salt and pepper. Drizzle the sauce over the leeks and serve.
