Ingredients

  • Broccoli - 2 pieces
  • Butter - 1.8 oz
  • Soy Sauce - 1 fl oz
  • Peanut Sprouts - 3.5 oz
  • Salt - to taste
  • Chinese Five Spice - ¼ spoons

Step by Step guide

Step 1

Break 2 heads of broccoli into florets, discarding the tough stems (if possible, it's better to use broccolini for this dish instead of large heads of broccoli, but this is more a matter of aesthetics than flavor). In a saucepan, add a little water, about a finger's depth, season with salt, bring to a boil, and blanch the broccoli for four to five minutes. Let the cooked florets cool.

Step 2

In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter, then add the Five Spice mix and soy sauce. Sauté the broccoli in this mixture for two minutes. Sprinkle with coarsely crushed peanuts and serve.
