Ingredients
- White bread - 7.1 oz
- Tomatoes - 8 pieces
- Basil - to taste
- Garlic - 3 cloves
- Olive Oil - 17 fl oz
- Salt - to taste
- Ground Black Pepper - to taste
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Place the tomatoes in a pot and cover them with olive oil, so that it almost reaches the top.
Step 2
Add garlic and basil leaves (remember, if you chop the leaves, they will lose some aroma; they should be torn by hand).
Step 3
Add salt and pepper.
Step 4
Let it sit for 2–3 hours to absorb the oil.
Step 5
Toast the bread until golden brown and slightly crispy.
Step 6
Remove the garlic from the tomato sauce and drizzle 1–2 tablespoons over each piece of bread.
Step 7
Serve as an appetizer and side dish.
