- Olive Oil - 6 tablespoons
- Onion - 1 head
- Turnips - 3 lbs
- Wheat Flour - 1 tablespoon
- Dry White Wine - 6 fl oz
- Parsley - 3 stems
- Salt - to taste
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Peel the vegetables and slice the carrots into half-centimeter thick pieces, and finely chop the onion and parsley.
Step 2
Heat the oil in a saucepan. Add the onion and sauté over low heat, stirring, for 6 minutes until it becomes translucent and soft. Then add the carrots and cook for another 5 minutes.
Step 3
Stir in the flour and cook for another 5 minutes, then add the wine, salt, and pour in enough water to cover the vegetables. Cover with a lid and cook over low heat for 30-60 minutes — the time depends on the type of carrots.
Step 4
When the carrots are soft, place them on a warmed dish and sprinkle with parsley.
