Description
When the cheese melts, you can sprinkle it with 65 grams of almonds or pine nuts. Return the dish to the oven and bake for a few more minutes – just enough for the nuts to toast.
Ingredients
- Lemon - ½ piece
- Cauliflower - 3 lbs
- Milk - 17 fl oz
- Butter - 0.9 oz
- Safflower Oil - 2 tablespoons
- Wheat Flour - 2 tablespoons
- Gruyère cheese - 2.8 oz
- Salt - to taste
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Rinse the cauliflower florets in cold water with the juice of half a lemon. Boil the cauliflower in a large pot, adding a bit of milk, and cook uncovered for 20 minutes. Drain the water and rinse the cauliflower with cold water. Then transfer it to a baking dish.
Step 2
Melt the butter along with the sunflower oil in a saucepan, stir in the flour, and cook, stirring, for 2 minutes. Then slowly pour in the milk, add salt, and cook, stirring, for another 10 minutes. Pour the sauce over the cauliflower. Sprinkle with grated cheese and place in the preheated oven.
Step 3
Bake for 10-15 minutes at 356°F until the top is golden brown. Serve immediately in the same dish.
