Cheese in Grape Leaves with Olive Jam
Ingredients
- Canned Grape Leaves - 12 pieces
- Pitted olives - 7.1 oz
- Feta cheese - 8.8 oz
- Brown Sugar - 4.8 oz
- Vanilla salt - 0.5 oz
- Orange zest - to taste
- Meyer Lemon Juice - ½ teaspoon
- Grapeseed Oil - to taste
- Grated Ginger Root - a pinch
- Ground clove - 2 pieces
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Soak the olives in cold water for a couple of hours to remove the salt.
Step 2
Prepare the syrup: dissolve the sugar in 100 ml of water and simmer over low heat.
Step 3
Add finely chopped olives. Simmer over low heat, gradually adding all the spices (I adjusted to my taste, but variations are possible).
Step 4
Cut the feta cheese into slices approximately 35x25x10 mm. Wrap each slice in a grape leaf. Place on a greased baking sheet.
Step 5
Bake the cheese in a preheated oven at 302°F.
Step 6
Serve with olive jam.
