Description
The simplest recipe where a basic cheesy soup is cooked in chicken broth, making it even heartier. If the combination of chicken broth and cheese seems excessive to you, feel free to just add pieces of boiled chicken to the soup.
Ingredients
- Chicken fillet - 17.6 oz
- Water - 2 qt
- Bay leaf - 1 piece
- Allspice berries - 3 pieces
- Potato - 14.1 oz
- Vegetable Oil - 0 fl oz
- Butter - 0.7 oz
- Onion - 1 head
- Carrot - 1 piece
- Sliced Processed Cheese - 14.1 oz
- Salt - to taste
- Ground Black Pepper - to taste
- Dill - to taste
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Prepare all the ingredients.
Step 2
Pour water into a pot and add the chicken fillet. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat.
Step 3
Add bay leaf and allspice, and simmer for 15 minutes.
Step 4
Dice the onion and carrot into small cubes.
Step 5
Peel the potatoes and cut them into cubes measuring 1–1.5 cm on each side.
Step 6
In a skillet, heat a mixture of vegetable and butter. Sauté the onion and carrot for 5–7 minutes.
Step 7
Remove the fillet from the pot and let it cool for a bit.
Step 8
Add the potatoes to the broth, bring to a boil, and cook for 7–10 minutes or until tender.
Step 9
Add the vegetable sauté and processed cheese to the soup, and stir.
Step 10
Cut the chicken into small pieces and add it to the soup as well.
Step 11
Season with salt and pepper to taste. Bring to a boil and remove from heat.
Step 12
Serve the cheese soup with chicken, garnished with chopped dill.
