Description
Dumplings can be easily dropped into the soup using two teaspoons that have been moistened in cold water. To do this, scoop up 1/3 of a teaspoon of dough and quickly drop it into the soup with the second spoon. It’s important not to take too much dough, as the dumplings will increase in size while cooking.
Ingredients
- Water - 2 qt
- Chicken fillet - 14.1 oz
- Onion - 1 piece
- Carrot - 1 piece
- Potato - 3 pieces
- Vegetable Oil - 1 fl oz
- Salt - to taste
- Spices - to taste
- Chicken Egg - 1 piece
- Wheat Flour - 6 teaspoons
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Cut the chicken breast into cubes and place them in a pot. Cover with cold water. Bring to a boil, skim off the foam, and reduce the heat.
Step 2
Season the broth with salt and add spices. Finely chop the onion. Cut the carrot into thin strips. Sauté the onion and carrot in vegetable oil.
Step 3
Add the chopped potatoes and the sautéed mixture to the soup.
Step 4
Break the egg, then gradually add the flour in small portions, kneading to form a smooth, elastic dough that is slightly thicker than sour cream. You can add a pinch of salt.
Step 5
Drop the dumplings into the soup and cook until the chicken and potatoes are done.
Step 6
Once cooked, you can remove the pot from the heat and let it rest covered for a while.
