Description

You can improvise with spices — before brewing, add a little ground ginger, cinnamon, or vanilla sugar to the coffee (and for a burst of flavor, even a pinch of red pepper). For an evening version, you can add a splash of liqueur, brandy, or whiskey when serving. Also, have fun with caramel or chocolate sauces on top of the ice cream — any dream can come true here). But even without this, according to the basic recipe, the drink turns out to be very rich and, keep in mind, quite caloric (about 250 kcal per serving). But it's worth it...

Ingredients

  • Ground Coffee - 3 teaspoons
  • Cocoa Powder - ½ teaspoon
  • Whole egg - 1 piece
  • Sugar - 2 teaspoons
  • Vanilla Ice Cream - 1.8 oz

Step by Step guide

Step 1

Place the coffee in a cezve, along with the cocoa powder and a spoonful of sugar (adjust to your taste; you can use just a pinch of sugar — it is necessary to create a crust, which is the foam that forms before the coffee is brewed — this will give the drink a richer flavor and aroma).

Step 2

Pour in 150 ml of cold water.

Step 3

Place the cezve on low heat.

Step 4

Meanwhile, separate the yolk and thoroughly whisk it with a teaspoon of sugar.

Step 5

When the coffee starts to boil, remove the cezve from the heat, and after half a minute, put it back on the heat. Repeat this process three times.

Step 6

Carefully pour the brewed coffee through a strainer into the egg-sugar mixture, stirring constantly to prevent the yolk from curdling.

Step 7

Pour into a glass and top with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Optionally, you can lightly sprinkle with cinnamon, chocolate shavings, or cocoa. Serve immediately.
