Description
By the way, this homemade liqueur also becomes cloudy when ice is added, just like the real French drink.
Ingredients
- Vodka - 1 qt
- Oranges - 1 piece
- Sugar - 7.1 oz
- Red Long Chili Peppers - to taste
- Bay leaf - to taste
- Lemon - 1 piece
- Green peppercorns - to taste
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Peel the zest. Ideally, only the colored layer of the peel should be removed, but if you're feeling lazy, you can simply use the peels from two oranges.
Step 2
Mix with spices. The zest is finely chopped by hand and placed in a jar along with the spices: two bay leaves, five black peppercorns, and a pinch of red pepper.
Step 3
Add alcohol. Vodka is poured into the fragrant mixture, and a glass of sugar is added. Everything is thoroughly mixed and shaken.
Step 4
Wait. The bottle or jar is tightly closed and stored in a dark place for three to four days.
Step 5
The zest from the lemon and orange gives a slightly bitter taste, the glass of sugar provides sweetness, and the simple spices add aroma. To avoid bitterness, the bay leaves can be removed after two to three hours.
Step 6
The drink is ready; don't forget to add ice cubes.
