Description
Colored eggs in rice
Ingredients
- Chicken Egg - 5 pieces
- Red Food Coloring - to taste
- Rice - 14.1 oz
- Vegetable Oil - to taste
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Prepare all the ingredients.
Step 2
Boil the eggs hard in salted water.
Step 3
Next, it all depends on the effect you want to achieve: you can dye the eggs in different colors with pretty speckles, or you can make them multicolored. If you prefer the eggs to be different colors from each other, take as many plastic bags or containers with lids as the colors you are using. Fill each one with rice.
Step 4
Add your food coloring to each bag. Mix well to ensure that all the rice is colored.
Step 5
Place the boiled eggs (it’s important that they are hot for better dye adherence) into bags, seal them, and gently shake to ensure they are fully coated with rice.
Step 6
Let it sit for about ten minutes, then remove it, place it on a wire rack, and allow it to dry completely.
Step 7
If the goal is to achieve a multicolored pattern, a couple of bags will be enough: pour the rice into them, add all the food colorings at once, and shake well to distribute the color evenly throughout the rice.
Step 8
Then transfer the eggs to a rack and allow them to dry completely.
Step 9
Soak a piece of cotton in vegetable oil and rub it on the eggs to make them shine.
Step 10
Serve. Happy Easter!
