Description
Compote of Fresh Pears and Dried Fruits
Ingredients
- Pears - 8 pieces
- Vanilla salt - 1 pod
- Honey - 6 tablespoons
- Cinnamon - 1 stick
- Ground clove - 4 pieces
- Orange zest - 0.4 oz
- Meyer Lemon Juice - 0 fl oz
- Citrus Zest Mix - 0.4 oz
- Apple juice with pulp - 3 fl oz
- Dried Turkey - 10.6 oz
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Using a fruit knife, carefully peel the pears, keeping the stems intact. Remove the cores with a special knife. Place them in a wide-bottomed pot in a single layer and cover with water completely.
Step 2
Add the split vanilla pod, cinnamon stick, cloves, honey, orange zest, and lemon juice. Bring to a boil, reduce the heat, and simmer on very low heat for 10–15 minutes. Turn off the burner. Pour a small amount of the resulting syrup into a separate bowl and add the dried fruits. Leave the pears and dried fruits overnight.
Step 3
The next day, cut the pears in half and combine the dried fruits with the pear compote. Remove the vanilla and cinnamon, and pour in the apple juice. Serve with Greek yogurt.
