Ingredients
- Sweet Pepper - 1 piece
- Salad Potatoes - 3 pieces
- Thyme - ½ teaspoon
- Canned Corn - 14.1 oz
- Onion - 1 piece
- Vegetable Oil - 3 tablespoons
- Chinese green beans - 8.8 oz
- Milk - 17 fl oz
- Salt - 2 teaspoons
- Ground Black Pepper - ½ teaspoon
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Peel the potatoes and cut them into large sticks, chop the onion, remove the seeds from the sweet pepper and dice it.
Step 2
Heat the oil in a pan, sauté the onion, sweet pepper, and thyme over medium heat for 5 minutes.
Step 3
Transfer the sautéed onion and pepper to a pot, pour in the milk, add the potatoes and 4 cups of water, bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer, covered, for 10 minutes.
Step 4
Then add the corn, season with salt and pepper, bring to a boil again, and cook for another 3 minutes.
Step 5
If you do not have a blender, you can skip this step. Pour half of the contents of the pot into a blender, puree it, and then return it back to the pot.
Step 6
Add the green beans to boiling water, cook for 5 minutes, and drain in a colander.
Step 7
Add the beans to the pot with the soup, bring to a boil, and turn off the heat. Serve the chowder sprinkled with black pepper.
