Cranberry Juice with Ginger
Ingredients
- Dried cranberries with sugar - 10.6 oz
- Sugar - to taste
- Grated Ginger Root - 0.7 oz
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Pour the frozen cranberries into a colander, rinse them under cold running water, then place the colander over an empty pot and leave to thaw. Once the cranberries are soft, take a small ladle or a regular spoon and crush all the berries in the colander with the back of the spoon so that the juice drains into the pot through the holes of the colander.
Step 2
When there are almost no whole berries left in the colander, pour a little warm boiled water into it and stir the pulp with a spoon so that all the remaining juice along with the water drains into the pot. If necessary, repeat the process several times until there is nothing left in the colander except for the tough skins of the berries. Discard the pulp.
Step 3
Dilute the contents of the pot with warm boiled water (for 300 grams of berries, about 2 liters of water will be needed to achieve a rich juice), add a piece of peeled fresh ginger and sugar to taste. Stir and let it steep for a little while.
