Creamy Leeks with Butter
Ingredients
- Butter - 2 tablespoons
- Leek - 49.4 oz
- Dry White Wine - ½ cup
- Cream (40%) - 0.3 cups
- Coarse Salt - to taste
- Ground Black Pepper - to taste
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Trim the dark green leaves and roots from the leeks. Cut the remaining parts in half lengthwise and then slice into medium pieces.
Step 2
In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the leeks and cook, stirring, until soft, about 6–8 minutes.
Step 3
Pour in the wine and 1 cup of water. Bring to a boil and then reduce to a low heat. Cover and cook, stirring, until soft, about 20–25 minutes.
Step 4
Remove the lid and increase the heat. Allow the liquid to evaporate for 2–4 minutes. Then add the cream and let the sauce thicken for 3–5 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
