Description
This soup is best enjoyed in one sitting; the next day it will turn into a mush and become quite unappealing.
Ingredients
- Potato - 3 pieces
- Pea purée - 1 glass
- Bacon - 3.5 oz
- Garlic - 1 clove
- Safflower Oil - 1 tablespoon
- Salt - to taste
- Ground Black Pepper - to taste
- Onion - 1 piece
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Rinse the peas and transfer them to a pot. Add a liter of water, season with salt and pepper, bring to a boil, and simmer for one hour with the lid on.
Step 2
After an hour, add diced potatoes to the pot.
Step 3
Finely chop the garlic and onion, place them in a frying pan, and sauté in sunflower oil until golden brown. Cut the bacon into strips about one and a half to two centimeters wide and add them to the pan with the onion and garlic, frying until they reach the desired level of crispness.
Step 4
Check if the potatoes are done. If they are, mash the pea-potato mixture directly in the pot and add the bacon with garlic and onion.
Step 5
Stir the finished soup well, remove it from the heat, and let it sit covered for a while. When serving, you can garnish it with a strip of crispy bacon and some herbs.
