  • Butter - 5 tablespoons
  • Chinese green beans - 31.7 oz
  • Pistachios - ¾ cup
  • Fresh basil leaves - 1½ tablespoons
  • Coarse Salt - ½ teaspoon
  • Ground Black Pepper - ¼ teaspoon

Step by Step guide

Step 1

In a large bowl, pour in ice water. In a pot, bring salted water to a boil and add the green beans. Cook for 2-3 minutes, drain, and quickly transfer to the ice water. Drain again and thoroughly dry the green beans.

Step 2

Melt the butter in a large skillet over high heat. Cook uncovered for 2-3 minutes until the butter turns golden. Then add the pine nuts and cook for another 30 seconds until the nuts are toasted. Add the green beans, oregano, salt, and pepper, and cook, stirring, until the beans are heated through. Serve warm.
