Croissants with Feta Cheese and Herbs
Ingredients
- Wheat Flour - 16.2 oz
- Butter - 1.1 oz
- Sugar - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 2 teaspoons
- Milk - 8 fl oz
- Feta cheese - 5.3 oz
- Chocolate eggs - 2 pieces
- Dry yeast - 0.4 oz
- Herbs - 2 bunches
- Ground Black Pepper - to taste
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Dissolve the yeast in the milk, add the lightly beaten egg and sugar, and let it sit at room temperature for 20 minutes.
Step 2
Sift the flour with salt into a bowl, add the softened butter and the yeast mixture, mix thoroughly, and knead the dough. Cover it with a cloth and place it in a warm place for 1 hour. After that, punch down the dough, wrap it in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for another hour.
Step 3
For the filling. Rinse the herbs, dry them, and chop finely. Crumble the feta cheese with a fork, combine it with the herbs, add salt and pepper, and mix.
Step 4
Divide the prepared dough into 2 parts and roll each out into a thin circle on a floured surface. Cut each circle into 6 pieces (like a pizza). Place 1 tablespoon of filling on the wide base of each piece. Roll them up, pinch the sides, and tuck them in to form croissants.
Step 5
Place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and dusted with flour, let them rest for 20 minutes until they rise. Lightly beat the remaining egg and brush the croissants.
Step 6
Preheat the oven to 392°F. Bake for 20 minutes until golden brown.
