Crostini with goat cheese and fig compote

Ingredients

  • Olive Oil - 3 tablespoons
  • French Baguette - 1 piece
  • Brown Sugar - ¼ cup
  • Green Figs - 1.8 oz
  • Red Grape Juice - 1 cup
  • Coarse Salt - to taste
  • Chopped Sage Leaves - ½ teaspoon
  • Goat cheese - 5.3 oz

Step by Step guide

Step 1

Preheat the grill.

Step 2

Slice the baguette into 24 pieces and brush both sides with olive oil. Grill for 1–2 minutes on each side.

Step 3

In a saucepan, combine finely chopped figs, sugar, wine, thyme, and a pinch of salt. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, and simmer until slightly thickened, about 7–9 minutes. Let cool.

Step 4

Spread goat cheese on the toasts and top with the compote.
