Ingredients

  • Soy Sauce - 3 tablespoons
  • Rice Vinegar for Sushi - 2 tablespoons
  • Oyster Mushrooms - 1 teaspoon
  • Garlic - 1 clove
  • Ground Black Pepper - a pinch
  • Striploin steak - 10.6 oz
  • Chocolate eggs - 2 pieces
  • Whole egg - 1 piece
  • Mustard Greens - 1 teaspoon
  • Sriracha - to taste
  • Salt - to taste
  • Vegetable Oil - 10 fl oz
  • Fresh basil leaves - 30 pieces
  • French Baguette - 1 piece
  • Edible flowers - to taste

Step by Step guide

Step 1

Start with the marinade for the meat: pour soy sauce, rice vinegar, and oyster sauce into a food-safe freezer bag.

Step 2

Peel and finely chop the garlic. Add it to the mixture along with black pepper.

Step 3

Finally, place the meat in the bag, seal it tightly, and shake well.

Step 4

Marinate the meat in the refrigerator for 1.5 hours (you can start cooking it right away, but it won't be as tasty). Use this time to boil the eggs and make the spicy mayonnaise.

Step 5

Pour water into a pot, bring it to a boil, and lower the eggs into it. Without reducing the heat, continue to boil them for 10 minutes. Then remove the eggs from the pot, place them in cold water, and peel them.

Step 6

Prepare the spicy mayonnaise. The secret to simple preparation is that all ingredients must be at room temperature.

Step 7

Place the egg yolk in a bowl, add mustard, a pinch of salt, and 0.5 teaspoon of sriracha. Whisk together. Then, while continuing to whisk the mixture, gradually pour in the vegetable oil in even portions and keep whisking until it turns into mayonnaise. Then place the bowl with the mayonnaise in a cool place and proceed to cook the meat.

Step 8

Pour 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil into a skillet and set it over medium heat. When the oil is hot, place the meat in the skillet and sear for 1 minute on each side until a crust forms.

Step 9

Then reduce the heat and cook for another 4 minutes. Transfer the meat to a paper towel and let it rest for at least 5 minutes before serving.

Step 10

Rinse and dry the spinach leaves, slice the eggs into rounds, and cut the meat into two equal pieces. Cut the baguette in half, and then slice each half lengthwise.

Step 11

Spread the spicy mayonnaise on the pieces of bread and assemble the sandwiches: place spinach on the baguette, then eggs, and a piece of meat. Finally, place a few edible flowers on top of the meat and cover with the top half of the baguette.

Step 12

Note, this sandwich won't keep for long, so eat it quickly.
