Ingredients

  • Olive Oil - to taste
  • French Baguette - 1 piece
  • Butter - 1.8 oz
  • Chocolate eggs - 4 pieces
  • Passata Tomato Sauce - to taste
  • Salt - to taste
  • Ground Black Pepper - to taste

Step by Step guide

Step 1

Slice the baguette lengthwise, but not all the way through (as if it were a large sandwich). Heat a grill pan. Drizzle oil inside the bread, rub it in, and press it down on the grill pan with the oiled side facing down.

Step 2

Meanwhile, heat a large skillet over medium heat, add half of the butter. Allow it to melt and start to foam. Carefully crack the eggs into the skillet without breaking the yolks. Lightly salt the egg whites. Fry the eggs for 3–4 minutes, until the yolks are slightly set, adding the remaining butter during the process.

Step 3

Using a slotted spatula, remove the fried eggs from the skillet, allowing the excess oil to drain, and place them on one of the toasted sides of the bread. Season with pepper and add tomato paste. Cover with the other half of the bread, cut in half. Serve immediately.
