- Onion - 1 head

- Sauerkraut - 3.5 oz
- Sugar - to taste
- Ground Black Pepper - to taste
- Bay leaf - 1 piece
- Pearl barley - 3.5 oz
- Herbs - 1.8 oz
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Salt the pork for a day.
Step 2
Layer the lightly salted pork, fatback, sauerkraut, and onion. Add salt, sugar, pepper, and bay leaf. Sprinkle with barley, pour in water, and cook for 3 hours.
Step 3
Boil the potatoes separately, blend them, and add to the soup.
Step 4
Sprinkle the finished soup with chopped herbs.
