Fish Rassolnik with Barley
Ingredients
- Water - 1½ l
- Salad Potatoes - 2 pieces
- Pearl barley - 2 tablespoons
- Carrot - 1 piece
- Parsley - 1 piece
- Pickles - 2 pieces
- Onion - ½ piece
- Fat - 2 tablespoons
- Green peppercorns - to taste
- Bay leaf - 2 pieces
- Mackerel - 7.1 oz
- Salt - to taste
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Rinse the barley several times with hot water and cook until ready.
Step 2
Peel the potatoes and cut them into cubes, cut the parsley root into pieces, and the pickles into diamonds. Sauté everything in fat for 5–10 minutes.
Step 3
Sauté the chopped carrot and onion lightly.
Step 4
Add the prepared vegetables to boiling water and cook for 20–30 minutes. Then add the pickles, canned fish, barley, spices, and salt. Bring the dish to readiness.
