Description
The main recipe for a traditional Swiss dish.
Ingredients
- Gruyère cheese - 15.9 oz
- Dry White Wine - 10 fl oz
- Garlic - 1 clove
- Emmental cheese - 7.9 oz
- Potato protein - 0.4 oz
- Meyer Lemon Juice - 1 teaspoon
- Kirsch - 1½ tablespoons
- Nutmeg - a pinch
- Ground Black Pepper - to taste
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Rub the inside of the fondue pot with garlic. Grate the cheeses coarsely and mix them in the pot. Place over medium heat, add the wine, lemon juice, and starch. Stir with a wooden spoon in a figure-eight motion until the cheese melts.
Step 2
Add the kirsch, pepper, and nutmeg, keeping it on the heat until the mixture becomes homogeneous. Then place it on a burner, where the cheese should continuously boil. Dip cubes of bread with long forks.
