Fragrant Cranberry Mulled Wine with Kumquat
Ingredients
- Star anise - 8 pieces
- Concentrated Cranberry Juice - 9½ cups
- Orange juice concentrate - 1 cup
- Cinnamon - 6 pieces
- Allspice berries - 6 pieces
- Grated Ginger Root - 2.8 oz
- Water - ½ cup
- Sugar - 4 tablespoons
- Port Wine - 12 fl oz
- Kumquat - 8 pieces
Step by Step guide
Step 1
In a pot, combine cranberry juice, orange juice, cinnamon sticks, star anise, allspice, chopped ginger root, water, and sugar. Bring to a boil while stirring. Cover and remove from heat. Let it sit for a while before serving.
Step 2
Before serving, heat the cranberry mixture, adding port wine, but do not bring it to a boil.
Step 3
Strain, pour into glasses, and garnish with sliced kumquat and cinnamon sticks.
