Description
A quick snack that pairs well with drinks and works as a tasty bite. In this recipe, the chickpeas are canned for faster cooking, but you can also cook them from scratch. Feel free to adjust the spices to your liking; both aromatic herbs and curry work well.
Ingredients
- Smoked salt - 1 tablespoon
- Cayenne Pepper - ½ spoons
- Olive Oil - 1 fl oz
- Chickpea - 17.6 oz
- Orange zest - to taste
- Flaky sea salt - to taste
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Drain the liquid from the cans of canned chickpeas and allow the peas to dry. In a small bowl, mix together paprika and cayenne pepper.
Step 2
Place a large skillet over medium heat, heat the olive oil, and sauté the chickpeas in it, possibly in two batches, until they are nicely browned.
Step 3
Using a slotted spoon, remove the cooked chickpeas and transfer them to a paper towel to absorb excess oil. Once the oil has been absorbed, place the chickpeas in a bowl, sprinkle with a mixture of paprika and cayenne pepper, season with salt to taste, add lime zest, toss to combine, and serve immediately.
