Description
Fried chickpeas in soy glaze
Ingredients
- Chickpea - 1.8 oz
- Sugar - 1 tablespoon
- Soy Sauce - 2 spoons
- Vegetable Oil - 2 fl oz
- Mild Chili Spice - a pinch
Step by Step guide
Step 1
First, soak the chickpeas in a large amount of water and let them sit for 12 hours. Drain the water, place the chickpeas on a paper towel, and pat them dry.
Step 2
Pour a small amount of vegetable oil into a preheated skillet. Once the oil is heated, add the chickpeas and sauté for 5 minutes. Note: The chickpeas should turn slightly pale.
Step 3
Next, you need to mix the sugar with the soy sauce until it is completely dissolved.
Step 4
Sprinkle the chickpeas with chili pepper (according to your desired level of spiciness), pour sweet soy sauce into the pan, and glaze the nuts over medium heat until the excess liquid evaporates and the soy glaze coats the chickpeas with an even crust.
Step 5
Before serving, the glazed roasted chickpeas should be well chilled; this will ensure they are crispy.
