Fried Onion Side Dish (Option 1)
Ingredients
- Salt - to taste
- Onion - 2 pieces
- Beer - 11 fl oz
- Safflower Oil - 7 fl oz
- Chicken Egg - 1 piece
- Wheat Flour - 5.3 oz
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Take two large onions and slice them into rings.
Step 2
Sift the flour with a pinch of salt into a bowl, add the egg yolk and 1 tablespoon of oil, and whisk well. Gradually pour in the beer while stirring until the batter resembles thick sour cream. Whip the egg white with a pinch of salt, then gently fold it into the batter.
Step 3
Heat the remaining oil in a pan to 356°F. Dip the onion rings into the batter and fry them in batches until they are golden brown. Remove with a slotted spoon and let excess oil drain. Serve hot as a side dish with roasted or fried meat.
