Description
Gazpacho originated even before tomatoes arrived on the Iberian Peninsula and initially consisted of a mixture of water, oil, and bread crumbs. However, it is not necessary to make gazpacho exclusively from tomatoes; there are variations made from cherries, plums, and green apples, and bread is not always used.
